- Start by whisking together milk, sugar, and a pinch of salt in a saucepan.
- Add cornstarch and continue to whisk until it’s completely dissolved.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly.
- Cook until the mixture thickens and starts to bubble.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour the custard into serving bowls and let it cool.
- Chill in the refrigerator for about an hour before serving.
